If you are on the interwebz you know that “binders of women” went viral before the debate was even over. The question was about equity in the workplace and Romney’s answer had to do with a personal tale. He talked about assembling his cabinet as governor of Massachusetts and the effort he made to find qualified women to fill many of those roles.
Blogger for The Phoenix David Bernstein calls Mitt Romney out for lying about where the binder of women originated. Mitt claims that he initiated the recruitment effort that resulted in these now famous binders full of women. Turns out a bipartisan group of women formed MassGAP to address problems of inequity. They assembled the binders of qualified women and presented them to Governor Romney when he was elected.
