September is Abortion Access Month, and while there are still a few days left, we encourage you to take action. One campaign, an effort from the Center for Reproductive Rights, is working to gain support for the Bill of Reproductive Rights. With enough signatures, this bill would send a message to the President and Congress that the anti-choice and anti-woman efforts and laws spreading around the country are simply not acceptable. The BRB sends this powerful statement to the U.S. Congress and President:

“They [the President and Congress] must guarantee and protect reproductive rights as fundamental human rights and stop the attacks by politicians who want to take those rights away.” [www.drawtheline.org

It takes only a moment to sign the Bill online. As an added plus, if you do sign you are then treated to a video of Amy Poehler telling you you’re awesome. Here’s what Amy will say to you when you sign*:

“You’re putting [Congress and the President] on notice that they’ve got to stop standing by while our health and dignity get batted around like political piñatas, and start standing up for our fundamental constitutional rights. You’re letting them know that we are sick and tired of having our bodies legislated and we are coming straight to the capitol bringing them a pile of signatures that shows we mean business.”

With as much support as this Bill is gaining, it seems like the real deal, and hopefully something that will have heavy affect on future decisions in Congress. So go ahead, take five minutes out of your day to join the efforts of Abortion Access Month. You’ll be glad you did.

*Have you signed it yet? If not, I’ll say that again: Amy Poehler will think you are awesome.
